Preferred video style, quality and attributes

  • View: microscope or stable operative field view, with the relevant muscle and sutures clearly visible.
  • Quality: ideally HD or 4K, sharp focus, good illumination, minimal obstruction and minimal camera shake.
  • Content: concise clips are preferred; include the key surgical step, for example medial rectus recession, lateral rectus resection, inferior oblique weakening or adjustable sutures.
  • Privacy: no patient face, name, hospital number, date of birth, theatre list, voiceover identifiers or visible labels.
  • Audio: mute audio unless it is essential and fully anonymised.
  • Format: MP4, MOV or a viewable streaming link is preferred.
